House Approves Funding for
Northern California Flood Protection Projects

(Washington, DC) - Congressman Herger today voted in favor of H.R. 2641, the fiscal year 2008 Energy and Water Appropriations bill.  The measure includes funding for several important flood protection projects in California's Second Congressional District that were supported by Congressman Herger.  Herger made the following comment regarding House passage:

"Northern California is in dire need of additional flood protection," Herger stated.  "I'm pleased the House of Representatives has passed legislation that would address this need.  The measure would fund several high priority projects that will help protect homes and communities in our area that are especially vulnerable to flooding.  Many residents of Northern California have experienced the devastating consequences of flooding firsthand.  We must do everything we can to protect Northern Californian families and agriculture from future flooding.  I will continue to work to ensure that flood protection in Northern California remains a top priority of Congress."
