Description: The National Bureau of Economic Research concentrates on four types of empirical research: developing new statistical measurements, estimating quantitative models of economic behavior, assessing the effects of public policies on the United States economy, and projecting the effects of alternative policy proposals. Search their database for Working Papers by keywords to retrieve citations, abstracts, and full text. Full text is also available for working papers from the Development of the American Economy Program.

Also see the NBER Macrohistory Database covering all aspects of the pre-WWI and interwar economies, including production, construction, employment, money, prices, asset market transactions, foreign trade, and government activity.
