SPRILIB : A Polar and Glaciological Bibliographic Database

Description: The Scott Polar Research Institute Library (SPRILIB) databases cover the literature relating to the Arctic and Antarctic published in a wide range of languages. The database also offers comprehensive coverage for all aspects of snow and ice throughout the world. In addition to records for books, chapters, conference proceedings and papers, government and other reports, SPRILIB includes records for articles identified through the regular scanning of over 1,000 periodicals. The resource includes:

Subject Coverage: All subjects relating to the polar regions are included, with particularly good coverage for: land and sea ice; snow and snow cover; geocryology; snow and ice engineering; geology; marine sciences; ice navigation; atmospheric sciences; global change; environmental issues; zoology (especially sea mammals and birds); indigenous peoples of northern Russia, North America and the European Arctic; international law and policy; and history of exploration.

Geographic coverage includes: Alaska; Antarctica (especially published results of historic expeditions); Arctic Ocean and adjacent waters; Canadian North (Yukon and Northwest Territories); Northern Fennoscandia; Greenland; Russian Arctic and Siberia; and Svalbard.
