Description: Contains the official record of the proceedings and debates of the United States Congress from Volume 140 (1994) to the present. The Congressional Record is published daily when Congress is in session and at the back of each daily issue is the "Daily Digest," which summarizes the day's floor and committee activities. Also see the Congressional Record Index , which provides indexing to the Record beginning in 1983.

The Congressional Record continues Congressional Globe , 23d-42d Cong.; Dec. 2, 1833-Mar. 3, 1873. A history of the Congressional Record and the Daily Digest is available from the U.S. Senate.
