For closet reviewers, pent-up critics, or those of us who simply enjoy recording our theatergoing experiences, this journal is the perfect repository for raves, tirades, and the bare-bone facts. Each review page provides space for noting title, date, director, cast, playwright, venue, seats, ticket price, and your critique, along with a nifty rating system. There is also space for pasting in a ticket stub, should you be so inclined. A second section comprises several pages on which you can list plays you've read about or heard about, to remind yourself to see them or avoid them. The journal ends with a do-it-yourself index, where you can fill in the play titles you've reviewed, with page numbers, so that you can easily reference your comments without leafing through the book. Sprinkled throughout are quotations from denizens of the theater and full-color show posters drawn from the Library of Congress' Artcraft Collection. The posters include: Cabaret (1966), Paint Your Wagon (1951), How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (1961), My Fair Lady (1956), and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (1962). Description: This theater journal includes space for reviews of more than 70 plays, pages for listing recommended plays, twenty full-color poster reproductions, an easy-to-use index, and quotations from critics, playwrights, directors, and actors. 128 page smyth-sewn hardcover book with ribbon marker.
