The Laboratory Managers Interest Group was formed in June of 2003 to serve as an advisory group for NIH activities that impact research laboratory operations, share best practices for managing lab operations and resolving problems, and serve as a forum for professional development by hosting seminars and workshops on integral laboratory and NIH processes. This diverse group is comprised of biologists, chemists, facility managers and safety specialists from across the NIH institutes, and many members have post-baccalaureate degrees. Lab managers are the go to people in their laboratories, often asked for help in obtaining resources, navigating administrative processes, making purchases, and just about anything that could come up in operating a research laboratory. Come learn about our activities. Membership is open to all interested parties, and the group has a list-serve. |
