The first place citizens often have contact with government is at the local level. From getting a permit to add an addition to a house to registering a business, citizens frequently interact with local government. The Oregon Blue Book is your first stop for information about Oregon's 242 cities, 36 counties, and hundreds of other local government entities.

City government - descriptions, elected officials, and community profiles.

County government - descriptions, histories, elected officials, records, and scenic images.

Other local government entities - special districts, ports, regional districts, Metro, and transit districts.

City and county populations - with tables from 1970 to 2007.
