Goal: To bring together colleagues to share the latest information about emerging infectious diseases, to build relationships, and plan the next steps in disease surveillance, response, research and prevention strategies.

Objectives:

  1. Exchange scientific information on emerging infectious disease issues in the United States and other countries.
  2. Discuss programs and activities that have been implemented to address emerging infectious disease threats.
  3. Identify program gaps that need to be addressed.
  4. Increase awareness in the public health and scientific communities of issues relating to emerging infectious diseases.
  5. Encourage and enhance partnerships to address emerging infectious diseases.

Prerequisite Skills and Knowledge

Participants should have a medical/science background. Participants may be researchers, clinicians, laboratorians, veterinarians, and other health professionals.
