White
House Conference on Cooperative Conservation
NRCS participated in the White House Conference on Cooperative Conservation
in St. Louis, Missouri, this week. The Departments of Agriculture, Interior,
Commerce, Defense and the Environmental Protection Agency co-hosted the event.
The three-day conference launched a new conservation dialogue and philosophy for
the 21st century that builds upon the legacy of a much similar convocation of
leaders by President Theodore Roosevelt at the start of the last century.

conference purpose and key conference outcomes.
NRCS showcased conservation technology, successful partnership stories from
across the country, and the web soil survey. A mobile field office -- a truck
outfitted with a satellite dish, laptop, GPS, and assorted field tools -- was
also on display. Kiosks featured conservation delivery services for different
NRCS customers and a small wetland and sand dune were part of the display.
