UGA Odum School of Ecology researchers discover new Percina fish species
While surveying fishes in Georgia's Flint River, Byron and Mary Freeman noticed that a certain darter fish had a striking orange color in its fins--much different than the Blackbanded darter that is prominent in the southwest Georgia River. The University of Georgia researchers had indeed come across a new species: the Halloween darter or Percina crypta.

Classic Film Series: Hitchcock's The 39 Steps
The Georgia Museum of Art presents Hitchcock's The 39 Steps. The evening begins with an introduction by Janice Simon, Josiah Meigs Distinguished Teaching Associate Professor in Art at the Lamar Dodd School of Art. Filmed in the UK in 1935, the film is loosely based on the novel of the same name by John Buchan. A man finds himself wrongly accused of murdering a woman he just met.
