Volunteers at STRI take part in the Smithsonian's Behind-the-Scenes Volunteer Program. Opportunities may be available in a variety of areas: scientific, educational and administrative. Volunteers provide a service to the Institution and do not receive any payment. Although volunteers may derive many of the same educational and enrichment benefits as interns, their efforts are viewed primarily as contributions to the on-going work of the institution.

Interested candidates should contact the Visitor's Services Office (VSO) at the address below. The VSO does not provide the volunteer with funds for living expenses.
