National Gallery
The National Gallery houses the national collection of Western European painting
from the 13th to the 19th centuries.

The National
Portrait Gallery
Founded in 1856, the National Portrait Gallery displays portraits of over 1,000
British men and women from the Middle Ages until the present day. Its collection
contains over 10,000 oil paintings, watercolors, drawings, miniatures, sculptures,
caricatures, silhouettes and photographs. |
The
Royal Collection
The Royal Collection includes paintings, drawings and watercolors, furniture,
ceramics, clocks, silver, sculpture, jewelry, books, manuscripts, prints and
maps, arms and armor, fans, and textiles. It is held in trust by The Queen as
Sovereign for her successors and the Nation. Much of the Royal Collection is
on display at the principal royal residences, all of which are open to the public.
