White-Tailed Deer Management Plan/Envirnomental Impact Statement

The Draft White-tailed Deer Management Plan is now available for public review and comment. The 60-day public comment period for review of the draft plan was initiated on December 19, 2008 and the NPS will accept comments from the public until February 17, 2009. Two public meetings will be held in January 2009.

Climate

Winters at Valley Forge are cold and damp while spring and fall are cool. Summers are hot and humid. Sturdy hiking shoes are recommended for outdoor recreation during the snowy wintery season.

Did You Know?
You can jump on your bike at the Art Museum in center-city Philadelphia and ride the Schuylkill River Trail 20 miles to Valley Forge, and beyond. The Schuylkill River Trail and numerous connecting trails are constantly expanding, making it easy to walk or bike to the park.
