Hispanic Division: Back to 20th-Century Arrivals from Portugal Settle in Newark, NJ
Portuguese-American Newspaper Published in Newark, NJEthnic-oriented newspapers have helped solidify immigrant communities. One such example, published in Newark, is the semi-weekly, Portuguese-American newspaper Luso-Americano. Founded in 1928, it is one of the oldest Portuguese-language newspapers in the United States and has one of the largest circulations.
