October 24, 2002 - PANEL DISCUSSION: Mike Mashon, film
curator for Motion Picture, Broadcasting and Recorded Sound Division,
will moderate a panel discussion exploring filmmakers response
to 9/11. Participants include Pola Rapaport, Monica Sharf, Kerry
Reardon, Evan Fairbanks and Pat Aufdeheide. The first four are
filmmakers whose work can be seen in the "Witness and Response"
exhibition; Pat Aufdeheide is a professor at American University
who has written about the film community's response to 9/11. Mumford

October 25, 2002 - Office of Scholarly Programs and the
African Middle Eastern Division cosponsor a workshop on "Teaching
the Other: Muslims, Non-Muslims and the Stories They Teach,"
