This guide is designed as a starting point for current information on industries. It is for beginning researchers or those who need a place to start research on a particular industry. Obviously, every industry cannot be included. However, links to other industry guides and resources on the Library of Congress web pages are included.

There is some treatment of historical industry research — a few sources or titles — but since this guide is geared toward current information, historical information is limited. Also, it should be noted that while this guide focuses on the U.S., some of the same principles and sources can be used for a more global perspective.
