An Audio News Release (ANR) is an audio news file that provides media outlets with clips of comments, statements or press conference. Mainly distributed to radio outlets, an ANR can be a fast way to get important quotes or comments out to the public. ANR spokesperson and clip length are available by placing your cursor over the "speaker" icon located in the Audio Links section (if using the 'Internet Explorer' browser). The 'transcript' link, if available, provides the complete text of the clips. [Problems accessing the sound files]

Problems accessing the sound filesIf you use Windows XP or Vista, you should be able to double click the Audio Link icon (right side of the screen) and the audio file will play. If this doesn't work, you may have older software that doesn't work as well with these sound files. Try a 'right click' on the Audio Link icon instead and select Save Target As… and save the file to a place you can easily find (the Desktop) for example. The file will download there and it may take a minute or two (DSL or Cable) or considerably longer (if you use 'dial-up'). When the download is complete, click Close. Locate and right click the downloaded file and select Open With and select Choose Program. A box will appear. Scroll and find QuickTime Player or perhaps RealPlayer and select OK. The player will appear. You may have to click the 'play' button. |
