This course covers conflicts that arise between people and the
environment, the effects of select legislation and governmental intervention in relation
to environmental issues, the relationship between environmental issues and human health,
identifies known occupational cancer risks, describes the impact of the release of toxic
substances into the environment, identifies the major causes of foodborne disease, and
many more topics related to environmental issues. Larry Olsen, Dr PH, CHES, Professor of
Health Education, Pennsylvania State University, served as course developer. (Developed
