Dan Whiting, NRCS Chief of Staff. USDA image.Dan Whiting is the Chief of Staff for the Natural Resources Conservation Service. Prior to this appointment, he served as Communications Director for U.S. Senator Larry Craig.

Dan joined Senator Craig’s campaign staff in 1996 and worked on his Senate staff beginning in 1997. Starting his career as a Legislative Correspondent for energy, natural resources, and agriculture issues, he later served as Senator Craig’s Legislative Assistant for natural resources, Regional Director for North Idaho, and Press Secretary.

Dan earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management (1996) from the University of Idaho and a Master Degree in Management and Entrepreneurship (2005) from Regent University.

He completed the Stennis Emerging Congressional Staff Leadership Program during the 106th Congress and the Leadership Idaho Agriculture program in 2003.

Dan is from Idaho and resides in Washington, D.C.
