Notices of Inventory Completion Database

A Notice of Inventory Completion is published when a museum or Federal agency has made a determination of cultural affiliation for Native American human remains and associated funerary objects under their possession or control. These notices constitute decisions made by institutions and Federal agencies only. They do not necessarily indicate whether repatriation has or will occur following the 30-day waiting period.

The Notices of Inventory Completion published to date are provided below and are listed by date, the most recent first. The documents are also available in Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF). Click here [PDF] for the PDF document list.

The list of Notices of Inventory Completion, presented in its entirety below, may also be searched using the following query form. Suggested search terms include names of tribes, names of institutions such as museums, names of Federal agencies, states, or specific site names. For best results, use quotation marks around groups of words, for example "park county" or "university of california." Use the postal code as well as the state name to find cultural items from a specific state.
