 Image: Mosquito habitat

This cypress swamp in southern Alabama provides larval habitats for some kinds of mosquitoes, such as Anopheles quadrimaculatus and Coquillettidia perturbans. Farther back and higher up in the swamp, Culiseta melanura larvae will be found in cavities underneath the bases of some trees.
