Summary: This document introduces six distinct studies on interventions for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. The topics for these studies are varied and include: (1) the effect of literacy props and teacher mediation on the literacy behaviors of young children; (2) the relationship of amount of talk and diversity of talk on the language acquisition of preschool children who are learning a second language; (3) the referral, evaluation, and placement of preschool second language learners into special education programs; (4) a community-based intervention to facilitate the school readiness of Latino children; (5) an observation tool and its relationship to classroom quality for infants and toddlers in inclusive and non-inclusive classrooms; and (6) the role of teacher behavior in social skills training programs for preschool children with and without disabilities.
