State Registry Application Portability Assessment 2005
In 2005, the individual registries funded by the National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR) wanted to determine what software programs other registries were using. The result was compiled into a report called the State Registry Application Portability Assessment.
This report supports NPCR objectives because it provides individual state and territorial cancer registries with information about the software available to use to collect and process cancer data. The NPCR will use this report to determine how to use software development and support funds more efficiently; software design will continue to follow guidelines developed by the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries, Inc. (NAACCR, Inc.). The assessment goal was to increase the number of software programs that are compliant with national standards and provided by the CDC to implement the NPCR, established by Public Law 102-515.
