News ReleaseFor Release: Dec. 23, 2008 BLM Seeks Nominations to Carrizo Plain National Monument Advisory CommitteeThe Bureau of Land Management is seeking nominations from the public to fill positions on the Carrizo Plain National Monument Advisory Committee. Nominations are being accepted for the next 45 days, beginning today with the publication of the call-for-nominations in the Federal Register. "Committee members provide advice and recommendations to the BLM on the management of public lands in the Carrizo Plain National Monument," said Johna Hurl, monument manager. The committee consists of nine members:
Nominations should be sent by mail to Monument Manager, 3801 Pegasus Dr. Bakersfield, CA 93308. Call Hurl at 661-391-6093 for more information. Nomination forms are available on the web at http://www.blm.gov/ca/st/en/info/rac/cpnmac.html Individuals may nominate themselves or others. Nominees will be judged on the basis of their training, education, and knowledge of the committee’s geographical area. Nominees should also demonstrate a commitment to consensus building and collaborative decision making. All nominations must be accompanied by letters of reference from the represented interest or organization; a completed background information nomination form; and any other information that speaks to the nominee's qualifications. – BLM – |
