A new version of the HuGE Navigator  (1.2) has been launched which includes a new component, the Gene Prospector . This bioinformatics tool is designed to sort, rank, and display information about genes in relation to human diseases, risk factors, and other phenotypes.

As of June 4, 2008, the HuGE Navigator  contains 34,608 research studies, referencing 3,556 genes,and 1,935 health outcomes/diseases. Both epidemiologic studies and review articles can be found in the database which includes 71 HuGE Reviews and 750 meta-analyses.
