Healthy KidsClark County School District in Nevada receives funding from CDC’s Division of Adolescent and School Health to conduct the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS). For the first time, Clark County will monitor risk behaviors of middle and high school students independently of statewide YRBS monitoring efforts.

Clark County's Program In Action

Conducting the Youth Risk Behavior Survey

  • Enhancing the middle school YRBS by adding questions and expanding survey administration to include alternative and detention schools to acquire baseline data for future surveys.

  • Providing professional development to administrators and teachers on how to communicate the results of the YRBS using instructional activities.

  • Disseminating YRBS results by developing English and Spanish brochures, designing a YRBS Web link to the Clark County School District Web site, and facilitating parent seminars.
