State Agencies Delaware
The
Delaware Department of Education receives funding from CDC’s Division of
Adolescent and School Health to provide HIV prevention education and conduct
the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS). In collaboration with numerous
community partners, the Delaware HIV Prevention Program plans and implements
effective policies and educational strategies to prevent HIV infection among
youth and implements targeted strategies to reduce disparities among youth
disproportionately affected by HIV infection. In addition, data obtained
through the YRBS enable the Delaware Department of Education to address the
health needs of children, which can lead to improvements in academic
readiness and success.
