Alan Lomax Collection
American South
Lomax recorded throughout the American
South, recording for the Library of Congress, with his father and with
others, between 1933 and 42. In 1959, upon his return from Europe, Lomax
continued making extensive field recordings in the south, recording in
Virginia,
Kentucky, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, and the Georgia Sea
Islands.
