SCSR Training Modules - FY07

Objective

  • Develop, distribute, and evaluate unit specific SCSR care, maintenance, and inspection training modules to ensure that SCSRs are kept in good condition and all units that fail inspection are removed from service. Insure miners know how SCSRs work.

Project Scope


  • Interagency Agreement with MSHA to develop and evaluate unit specific training for each SCSR
    • CSE SR-100
    • Draeger OXY K and OXY K Plus
    • MSA Life Saver 60
    • Ocenco EBA 6.5 and M-20
  • Training module consists of video, computer based training, instructor's guide, screen saver, and sticker

Milestones

  • CSE and Ocenco training modules developed in FY 06
  • Draeger and MSA modules developed in FY 07

Outputs

  • 50,000 Training module DVDs disseminated to mines
  • 120 DVDs disseminated to other stakeholders
  • Final rule

Outcomes

  • Improved training for miners
