"Votes for Women" Suffrage Pictures -- Acknowledgments

Most of the images included here were originally selected by Sheridan Harvey, Reference Librarian and Women's Studies Specialist, Main Reading Room, as an intern project in 1987. Additional images, the bibliography, and related documents were compiled in 1997 by Barbara Orbach Natanson, Reference Specialist, Prints and Photographs Division. The "special presentation" time line was developed by E. Susan Barber, consultant to the National Digital Library Program. Catalogers Arden Alexander, Barbara J. Hoyniak, Tracy N. Meehleib, and Woody Woodis examined the original pictures and compiled the catalog records. Katherine M. Arrington (NDL Technician) and Philip J. Michel (Digital Conversion Specialist) acquired the digital image scans and helped to produce the texts. Jane Makich also assisted in producing the text in the course of her participation in the Junior Fellows program. Helena Zinkham (Head, Technical Services) coordinated the development of the site and assisted in editing the text. Mary Ison (Head, Reference Section), contributed ideas about the content of the site and helped analyze image rights. Staff of other divisions, including Janice E. Ruth (Manuscript Division), Mary Wolfskill (Manuscript Division) and Rosemary Fry Plakas (Rare Book and Special Collections Division) provided information and assistance concerning related materials in their holdings. National Digital Library Program staff who designed Web screens and navigation features, wrote the technical imaging note, and contributed to the production in many other ways included: Lisa K. Alexander, Carl Fleischhauer, Melissa S. Levine, Dominique M. Pickett, and Tracey M. Salley.
