Small-Town America: 1850-1920

How to View Images in this Collection

No special viewer is required for viewing the images in Small-Town America: 1850-1920. The stereographs have been cataloged in groups. The link from a bibliographic display in American Memory will display a grid of thumbnail images. This display and presentations of individual stereographs are generated on a web site at The New York Public Library.

When both halves of the stereograph are displayed on the screen together, inexpensive hand-held viewers can present the three-dimensional effect that the original was intended to create. These viewers are available from a number of vendors. For more information, see Viewing Tips from The New York Public Library.
