Activity
Eagle's Nest

We use energy for everything we do. When we are physically active, we use even more. Being active is good for everyone. It keeps our bodies growing strong. Being active can help us stay at a weight that’s right for our body size or help us to lose weight slowly. Being active can help us sleep well and even feel better if we’re in a bad mood. Click here to learn more:

There are many benefits to being active. Here’s a site that girls might want to check out, for sure! http://www.cdc.gov/powerfulbones.

There are many ways we can be active. Some people like to dance, swim, jog, ride a bike, play ball, paint, and help in their community. What do you like to do or want to try? This Website http://www.cdc.gov/youthcampaign/index.htm  helps kids about 9 to 13 years old think about what they like to do.

So you know what activities you like to do — or want to try. To start creating your very own physical activity plan, there are a few things you should know, including ways to be active safely. Visit http://www.bam.gov/sub_physicalactivity/physicalactivity_activitycalendar.html to find out.

Is there an activity you want to know more about? Not sure of how to play or what gear you'll need? Visit http://www.bam.gov/sub_physicalactivity/physicalactivity_activitycards.html for more information .

Try to be physically active for at least 60 minutes, most days of the week (every day is best!). This http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/physical/recommendations/young.htm tells you more about getting active.

Not everyone has it easy when it comes to doing physical activity, but if you're facing a challenge, it doesn't mean you can't be a superstar. Check out how athletes overcome physical challenges to make it to the top at this link: http://www.bam.gov/sub_physicalactivity/physicalactivity_meetchallenge.html.

You can also learn about physical activity at http://www.fitness.gov.

Being active can help us to use energy in good ways, as we just learned. But being active is not just physical, as you probably know. For more information about good ways to use energy, visit goodways.html.
