How to Join the Cooperative Acquisitions Programs


Libraries and other research institutions may join the Cooperative Acquisitions Programs run by the New Delhi Office by following the steps listed below:

  1. Review the Profile Descriptions for countries you are interested in, as listed below:

  2. See Levels of Selectivity, Geographic Areas of Context (for libraries interested in India alone), and Shipping.

  3. Refer to the Cost Estimates for the countries/programs of your interest listed below:

  4. Add the cost estimates for your selected subjects in the worksheet provided.

  5. If you are interested in English Publications from India, refer to this section for information on average costs of publications, then indicate the subjects, geographic areas and levels of selectivity you would require.

  6. If you are interested in acquiring serials, refer to the Serials List for information on titles available by country, language of publication and level of selectivity. Print the list of titles you wish to subscribe to, add the cost from the data available.

  7. Mail or fax your worksheet, accompanied by the list of serials you would like to acquire to the New Delhi office for verification.

  8. Review the draft bill the New Delhi Office will send to you based on your selections.

  9. Pay the official bill which will be sent to you by the Library of Congress African/Asian Acquisitions and Overseas Operations Division.
