President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate Sara Martinez Tucker to serve in his Administration. The White House released the following statement:

The President intends to nominate Sara Martinez Tucker, of California, to be Under Secretary of Education. Ms. Tucker currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. Prior to this, she served 16 years at AT&T. Among her assignments at AT&T, she served as a National Vice President and as Vice President of Consumer Operations. Ms. Tucker received her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Texas at Austin.
