Jeffery Deaver
Webcast
International best-selling author Jeffery Deaver wrote his first book (two entire chapters) when he was 11. After college and a journalism degree, he was a magazine writer and later a legal correspondent. He obtained a law degree and after practicing law for several years, began writing suspense novels—the type of writing he enjoyed reading on his long commutes to and from his law office. His career as a full time writer has produced nineteen best-selling novels, including The Bone Collector, which became a major film from Universal Pictures, and the most recent book, The Twelfth Card: A Lincoln Rhyme (Simon & Schuster, 2005). Mr. Deaver has been nominated for five Edgar Awards, an Anthony Award, and is the 2001 winner of the W. H. Smith Thumping Good Read Award. He lives in North Carolina.
