Stephen E. Ambrose
Stephen E. Ambrose, a historian and best-selling author, has written more than 20 books. His most current is The Wild Blue: The Men and Boys Who Flew the B-24s Over Germany (Simon & Schuster, 2001). His other books include Nothing Like It in the World: The Men Who Built the Transcontinental Railroad 1863-1869 (2000), Lewis & Clark: Voyage of Discovery (1998), Citizen Soldiers (1997) and D-Day June 6, 1944: The Climactic Battle of WW II (1994). Mr. Ambrose is a retired Boyd Professor of History, Director Emeritus of the Eisenhower Center in New Orleans and founder of the National D-Day Museum. He is a contributing editor to the Quarterly Journal of Military History, a member of the board of directors of American Rivers and a member of the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Council board. He resides in Helena, Montana.
