Calcium and Bone Health (9/5/08)
Bones play many roles in the body. They provide structure, protect organs,
anchor muscles, and store calcium. Adequate calcium consumption and
weight-bearing physical activity build strong bones, optimizes bone mass,
and may reduce the risk of osteoporosis later in life.

From this study, it appears that people with osteoporosis are at higher
risk of developing problems with physical frailty and difficulties with
activities of daily living, and may be at risk for reduced quality of life

osteoporosis by helping them to keep as physically functional as possible.
