Charlotte Frontier Days

This six-day festival, held in Charlotte each September, recreates the Old West with horse-drawn wagons, a Frontier Saloon and Dance Hall party, a Las Vegas night, and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association's World Championship Rodeo. A pageant for Frontier Days Queen kicks off the event, which also includes a grand parade, a large arts and crafts fair, a flea market, live music, and fireworks. Held since 1971, it is documented in a videotape, historical text, 21 color photographs, promotional materials, and souvenir items.
