Taotao Latte
(People of the Latte, 2000 BC to 800 AD)
This cultural drama was presented in October 1996
at the Seventh Festival of Pacific Arts, a quadrennial celebration
of the Pacific Islands held that year on Samoa. The title
translates as "people of the latte," a reference to the indigenous
Chamorro of Guam. Using traditional songs and dance, the three-act
production presents the history of the Taotao Latte from the
beginning of mankind to the American era. An audio cassette tape,
two commemorative booklets, and descriptive text document the
production.
