University Park: A Renaissance Village
The project chronicles the 50-year history of
University Park, a planned community developed under the New
Communities program established under HUD in 1970. Among the
enhancements brought to the community are Governors State
University, 1,000-acre Thome Creek Woods, a state-of-the-art
library facility, a golf course, a sculpture park, and other
recreational and cultural facilities.
