Our transcription: The retreating glaciers have had another, though less obvious, effect on the landscape. The other big effect happened at the end of the ice age. As the ice began to melt, a tremendous weight was taken off the continents of the world, and the landmasses began to rise. We've already seen how sea level has dropped during the ice age, and now at the end the lands begin to rise. Today the Hudson Bay region has risen as much as 400 feet and is still rising today.
