We are now paying for our foolhardy adventures into the WTO, NAFTA, outsourcing and illegal immigration...Comparing the current employment situation with that of 1945 is comparing oranges with apples. In 1945, the war ended and all of the jobs devoted toward producing war material were no longer necessary... Add to that, the millions upon millions of service personnel that were discharged and its rather miraculous that only 2.75 million joined the unemployment lines. Today, what's the excuse? We have none except the government abandoned its control of big business and instead of controlling business, it let business control the government.
