Promoting the health and wellness of older Americans through support of:

  • reauthorization of the Older Americans Act (OAA) to help seniors to stay independent and healthy through meals, caregiver support, senior center services, transportation, home care, elder abuse protection, and employment for low-income older workers.

Promoting improved school health education and physical education programs in the U.S. through support of:

  • policies, programs and practices that ensure all children and youth engage in at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day. The PLAY Every Day Act promotes the national recommendation of 60 minutes of physical activity to kids, families and communities across the United States;

  • increased appropriations for the Carol M. White Physical Education Program (PEP) grants to fund schools to initiate, expand, and improve K-12 physical education programs (NASPE);

  • the "Fitness Integrated with Teaching Kids Act" or "FIT Kids Act" to amend the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act to support quality physical education and activity for all public school children through grade 12 and ensures they receive important health and nutritional information.

Continue support for Title IX, the landmark legislation that prohibits sexual discrimination in any education activity at any educational institution that receives federal funding:

  • Oppose the U.S. Department of Education’s Title IX “Additional Clarification (NAGWS).
