National Institute for Farm Safety (NIFS) Annual Conference

When: June 22nd – 26th , 2008

Where: Eden Resort and Inn, Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Who: Anyone who is interested in safety and health related to agriculture and rural areas. NIFS is an organization dedicated to the professional development of agricultural safety and health professionals, providing national and international leadership in preventing agricultural injuries and illnesses to the agricultural community.

Why: NIFS provides opportunities for sharing information about research and intervention programs, improving professional skills and knowledge, networking and other supportive activities.

CALL FOR PAPERS: The National Institute for Farm Safety (NIFS) invites submission of abstracts for Technical Paper, Panel/Roundtables, Research-in-Progress, Educational/Informational, Educational Display, Poster Display, and Program Presentation for the 2008 Annual Conference.

Abstracts are requested on topics related to the broad areas within agricultural safety and health. We are particularly interested in abstracts in three areas: 1) Special populations such as Anabaptist, migrants, seniors, and women (These will be presented in conjunction with a Special Populations plenary); 2) Safety issues associated with production, storage, handling, and use of biomass, digesters and bio-based fuels; and 3) ATV safety on farms and ranches.
