This is a selective listing of frequently consulted sources for information for salary and compensation research. It is a not a comprehensive listing of all of the compensation, salary, and benefits material in the Library of Congress collection. When visiting the Library of Congress, you will find that the most relevant material will be housed in the Adams Building. Many of the more current sources will be on the shelves of Business Reference Services in the Science and Business Reading Room on the fifth floor of the Adams building. Older material is housed in the stacks, accessible only upon request.
This guide has a very general subject breakdown, followed by a listing by geographies, followed by a breakdown by publishers. I have provided some (not all) links to our catalog for some of the relevant subjects as well as for some of the larger publishers. I have also included some information from the Department of Labor as well as a few Internet international sources.
