Business Ratios. Library ed.. This work provides
financial norm and business ratio data developed from
actual company income statements and balance sheets. The
information is arranged by SIC code, with a short industry
title, and an indication of the number of companies in each
industry sample. Both typical and common-size financial
statements and 14 key ratios provide important information
about industry performance with respect to solvency,
efficiency and, profitability. The Library ‘s
holdings begin with the 1988/89 edition; the latest edition
is available in the Business Reading Room.
An expanded set of data is published in three formats and
five segments. The Library of Congress has not collected
them. The formats are (1) Industry Norms and Key Business
Ratios, Three Year Edition; (2) Industry Norms and Key
Business Ratios, One Year Edition; and (3) Key Business
Ratios, One Year Edition. The segments are as follows: (1)
Agriculture, Mining,
Construction/Transportation/Communication/Utilities; (2)
Manufacturing; (3) Wholesaling; (4) Retailing; (5)
Finance/Real Estate/Services.
