Our transcription: Beyond the Continental Rise lies what is, quite literally, the flattest region on earth, the "Abyssal Plain". This landscape is formed as layer upon layer of sediment settles on the ocean floor. This material known as "pelagic" sediment, consists of organic as well as inorganic matter. "Pelagic" sedimentation is not restricted to the abyssal plain but occurs throughout the oceans.
