Race and Ethnicity of Victims, 2006
This table breaks down the child victims by race. In the first column, it lists the name of each State. The following columns each list race classifications as follows: African-American, American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, Hispanic, multiple race, Pacific Islander, and White. All except multiple race and Hispanic are exclusionary categories. Under each race or ethnicity category the population, number of victims, victimization rate, and percentage are listed. The final section lists the total victims across all races or ethnicities. African-American children and American Indian or Alaska Native children had the highest rates of victimization at 19.8 and 15.9 per 1,000 children of the same race or ethnicity, respectively.
