PURPOSE: | The purpose of this Information Memorandum (IM) is to provide the States, Tribes, and Territories a comprehensive list of those Children's Bureau policies that have been withdrawn in 2000 and 2001. |
INFORMATION: |
In January of 2000, the Children's Bureau began a project to revise its policy issuance system, culminating in the release of the Bureau's new online policy manual on September 24, 2001. This Child Welfare Policy Manual updates and reformats all of the existing relevant policy issuances (Policy Announcements and Policy Interpretation Questions) into an easy to use question and answer format. Throughout the course of developing the new manual, the Children's Bureau identified policy that should be withdrawn. States have been notified of withdrawn policy in three stages:
Attached to this IM is a comprehensive list of policies that have been withdrawn pursuant to developing the new policy issuance system. A listing of withdrawn PIQs and PAs can be found on the home page of Child Welfare Policy Manual (http://cb1.acf.dhhs.gov/programs/cb/cwpm/) under the "WITHDRAWN POLICIES" section. |
