Veteran Journalist Daniel Schorr to Speak at the Library on June 7

Award-winning reporter and broadcaster Daniel Schorr will discuss his memoir, Staying Tuned: A Life in Journalism (Pocket Books, 2001), at the Library of Congress at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, June 7, in the Mumford Room, sixth floor, James Madison Memorial Building, 101 Independence Ave. S.E. The program, part of the Center for the Book's "Books & Beyond" author series, is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.

Widely acknowledged as an elder statesman of American journalism, Daniel Schorr has actively covered world events for six decades, from his early days with Edward R. Murrow and CBS, to a new job at a fledgling cable news network called CNN, and finally, to National Public Radio, where today he is Senior News Analyst. Often controversial, he has won many awards for excellence and integrity in journalism. Kirkus Reviews recently praised Staying Tuned as "a marvelous memoir of an enviable life, written with style and real wit."
